Angie & Phil Wedding Highlights: Cinematic Edit

It was a beautiful day at a beautiful hidden garden in Pasadena, CA when Angie and Phil tied the knot at the Villa Del Oro. The set up was perfect, along with perfect weather. I loved the dramatic, long walk the bride makes entering from the top of the building down into the garden where the ceremony is taking place…And I’m sure it’s tough anticipation for the groom! Above is Angie and Phil’s Cinematic Edit, which will serve a great purpose as much of Angie’s family were not able to make it to the US for wedding. They will have this edit to show at the reception her father is showing in Taiwan!

Stacey and JF, Chicago
This weekend I went to Chicago and celebrated two of my clients, Stacey and JF. I have known Stacey’s family since I was young, so it was really fun to spend some time with the family. Like any Bachelor/Bachelorette weekend, we had events each day and the weekend flew by. Saturday, we attended the Cubs game and were able to get down on the field for photos…. We were rollin with connections! Here are some of the pics from the bride and groom to be at Wrigley Field. We are all looking forward to their weekend in September. It’ll be fun being their videographer..so stay tuned for that video! Ps. All of these photos were taken with iPhone4!

And be sure to check out their gorgeous engagement photos, by the amazing Jasmine Star!

It was fun to work with my favorite Oahu/Los Angeles wedding coordinator, Melissa Laudise with LDT. Eric and Kara’s Wedding: Next Day Teaser

Above is a quick teaser from yesterday’s wedding with Eric and Kara. The couple got married at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu and the day was put together beautifully by wedding coordinator, Melissa Laudise (Let’s Do This!). Romance kicked off the evening when Eric hit the mic with beautifully memorized vows…The two of them looked so happy together! It was clearly a heartfelt day and anyone who was there could feel it. Oh, and don’t miss Kara’s shoes…another hit of the day!

Maily and Brian Wedding Highlights: Cinematic Edit

For those that know Maily and Brian know that title really says: Hawaii Girl and California Boy. These two have had a long journey apart. By definition, apart means to be distanced from one another. Maily and Brian may have been distanced by proximity, but it is evident with these two that distance does not keep them from remaining close at heart. The love they share for each other was pouring out on their wedding day. After their beautiful, deep vows, it was clear they had endured the wait of being together. And now, after living their lives an ocean apart, they are married as one and will share their life forever.

The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Mid-Pac Country Club in Kailua, Hawaii. I got to work with one of my favorite coordinators, Melissa Laudise, of LDT – Let’s Do This wedding planning. We also put together a slideshow for Maily and Brian that night…to check that edit out, here is the link: http://averyjweddings.com/blog/?p=117

Speaking of the day of…I miss Oahu. Someone please provide me with an excuse to return for another week of sun and surf!! Aloha!

Wedding Videography, Oahu, Hawaii

Last week I flew to Oahu to film a wedding for Maily and Brian in Kailua. It was a beautiful set up at Mid-Pac Country Club, where it was partly sunny and 80 degrees as usual! It was a gorgeous day for Maily and Brian to tie the knot. I think the best moment may have been when Maily’s daughter, Taylor walked her down the aisle, and then Brian gave Taylor a little Tiffany’s necklace, symbolizing his love for the both of them. It was an emotional ceremony, followed by fun reception with great toasts, good laughs, lots of dancing, and the slideshow above. Congrats to Maily and Brian, who finally get to live their life in the same state. As for me, of course I enjoyed my stay, getting plenty of R&R in the sun and surf. Here are some photos from the trip!

Beautiful baby girls… Scottlyn Mae and Chaden Mae~

Scottlyn Mae
Scottlyn Mae
Scottlyn Mae, born February 26, 2010.
Okay, this post is a little different than my wedding videos, but I just have to post the adorable new babies in my life. Last week my sister-n-law gave birth to Scottlyn Mae, my first niece and she is gorgeous! Above are two pics of her…the color pink is one thing she will never be without, that is for sure!! She seems to love sleep, but from what I remember at that age, so did I! Well, the day Scottlyn was born was quite a crazy one…It started at 4am at the hospital, in Corona, with my family. Labor kicked my sister-n-law’s butt until about 1:30pm when baby Scottlyn finally decided she was ready to be born. We celebrated and welcomed her to the family…Meanwhile, my best friend was in labor as well, in Woodland Hills. She was also due anytime and her child (we didn’t know boy or girl at this point), is set to be my first Godchild….so I had to be there for his/her arrival also! I snuck out of Corona Hospital at 3p and fought traffic through LA to get to Woodland Hills by 6p. I said hi to Katie and got the boot 10 minutes after arriving as her baby was now ready to shoot out. By 7:30pm, Katie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, who her and Hef named, Chaden Mae (below). And somehow, I got to be a part of both births…my first niece and my first Goddaughter…Oh, and no my brother and my best friend did not know they had the same middle names picked out! Two new beautiful babies in my life…What an amazing gift!! Or two.

Denise and Dennis Wedding Highlights, Classic Edit and Music Video

See them do the mash potato, the twist….do you like it like this?” Dancing and doing the twist was not the only twist this wedding day. Yep, you read that right, Denise and Dennis it did become a tongue twister all day…Denise, I mean Dennis…Dennis, I mean Denise….from the photographers to the toasts, this happened all day! Well, its not only their name that is similar, they also both similarly love to dance! This is the first time we shot a “Wedding Music Video,” and we didn’t have much time to shoot it, but we pulled it off. We mixed in some filming in between formal portraits. For the editing, we mixed in the dancing and the formals and called it a music video…that’s right their very own music video. The song they chose is the old school Do You Love Me? song from (the best movie ever), Dirty Dancing. The next video is their Highlight section – from the Creatively Classic package. Their wedding turned out to be a soft, beautiful summer wedding in Pasadena, held at a superb place, the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens. Denise and Dennis truly display their love through laughter and friendship, making it so refreshing to shoot them all day. Enjoy their wedding videos below!

Mollie and Michael Gray Wedding Highlights, Classic Edit, Austin Texas

We took a fun trip to Austin, Texas back in September for Mollie and Michael’s wedding. It was a hot, and of course, humid day in Austin, but still a great day for a wedding. Oh wait, one thing….Mollie and Mike had planned their wedding date around the UT Football schedule. After the invites went out, the UT vs. Texas Tech game got moved to September 19th, their wedding day…ouch! At one point in the reception, it was all women as all the men were in the bar watching the football game! Their wedding decor consisted of burnt orange accents with much love for the Longhorns! Above are the highlight from their day.

Trash the Dress: So Cal Photogshootout, San Clemente, CA

That’s right…the “Trash the Dress” themed photogshooutout video is finally edited! This shootout took place at Bella Colina Golf Course in San Clemente, CA. It was one of the first winter days in California, but the weather made a great match to the gloomy Trash the Dress bridal theme! Make sure you watch until about 1:20 for the hottest gory shots from the day.

Special thanks to Hanssie Trainor and Matthew Saville for inviting me to film again. The photogshootouts are a group of photographers that get together to learn, network, shoot, and more importantly, have fun! Check out their main site photogshooutout.com.
